DIP Package DC-DC Converters

Dual In-Line Package (DIP) DC-DC converters are the workhorses of the industrial power electronics industry. Featuring standard pinouts like the popular 24-pin DIP format (often packaged in a 1.25" x 0.8" case), these modules offer an excellent balance of power density, thermal dissipation, and ease of through-hole soldering.

Our DIP converters range from 2W up to 10W, providing regulated, isolated outputs for distributed power architectures. They are heavily utilized in industrial control panels, PLC I/O modules, and data acquisition systems where standard PCB real estate allows for through-hole components. With built-in continuous short circuit protection and high MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), these converters are built for "install and forget" reliability.

DIP vs SIP: Which to Choose?

Feature DIP (Dual In-Line) SIP (Single In-Line)
Power Capacity Higher (up to 10W+) Lower (typically 1W - 3W)
PCB Footprint Requires more board space Takes up minimal board space, stands taller
Thermal Dissipation Better heat spread across larger case Limited by small surface area

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these pin-compatible with other brands?

Yes, most of our DIP-24 modules follow industry-standard pinouts, making them ideal drop-in replacements for end-of-life (EOL) or hard-to-source competitors' products without requiring a board redesign.

What is the isolation voltage?

Standard models offer 1500VDC isolation, which is sufficient for most industrial data/power separation. We also offer high-isolation variants (up to 6000VDC) for medical or specialized high-voltage applications.
